This family has different species in Iran that often have industrial wood. Large maples are in high demand and grow in fertile soils with more minerals, and their resistance to cold and drought is relatively low, such as Acer velutinum and Acer cappadocicum. Small maples, on the other hand, are less in demand and are often calcareous, such as carob, kokum.
In ancient stories, the Acer tree is a symbol of flexibility and courage because it adapts to all heights and grows. It is said that in the ancient rituals of Iran, when a boy was born, a maple tree was planted for him, especially Acer velutinum, so that he could grow with him, and a boy like him would grow up brave, courageous, and steadfast, believing that he would receive positive energies.
