As you know, the preservation and restoration of Hyrcanian forests are very important. In previous articles, we talked about the importance of Hyrcanian forests. It probably’s important to you, and you know that maintaining forest health is more important than revitalizing it. When we talk about reforestation, we do not mean creating hectares of man-made forests! Rehabilitation of the forest means creating an environment in which the ecosystem means that all forest dwellers can live. Our intention in reviving the forest is not to interfere in the work of nature in any way. The forest can regenerate itself. But given the damage he has suffered, this process is very long. The purpose of reforestation is to support the efforts of Hyrcanian forests to rehabilitate themselves.
But how do we know if the forest is man-made or has grown naturally? The man-made forest has visual features that you will notice at first glance: The shape of the man-made forest is exactly like the classroom. All trees are the same age. They are placed in order and at certain intervals. There is no diversity and they are all of the same species. For the reasons I mention below, planting seedlings in this way has disadvantages. Of course, there are good and bad reasons for doing this, which we will mention first.
The man-made forest is more visually appealing. When you look at such a forest from a distance, which is all the same type and the same height and size, it may look more beautiful. The man-made forest also looks dense. But our main goal in planting seedlings and reforestation is not to make the forest look beautiful or sort. The forest is naturally beautiful and what makes it more beautiful is the existence of life and the flow of the ecosystem in it. For this reason, and of course, the reasons that I will mention below, “Bani Jungle” refuses to plant seedlings in the form of man-made forests. To clarify the issue, it is not bad to know about the harms of mangrove forests. Look at your hands. Are all your fingers the same? Imagine if all the fingers were the same, could you do different things? If we think of forest trees as fingers, we will have a better understanding of the task of each. each of the Forest trees has unique characteristics that make them enjoy being together. These differences manifest themselves better in cases such as soil erosion and pest infestation. When trees are infested, not all of them behave in the same way. Species resistance varies. Even stronger species provide the environment for weaker species to live. Some species have stronger roots and can prevent soil erosion. In addition, one of the most important reasons for refraining from creating forests is wood smuggling. The scattering of species that interest wood smugglers discourage them from doing so. When the species are not planted linearly and close to each other, harvesting the wood becomes much more difficult.
In the natural forest, unlike the man-made forest, the plantation of each tree is according to its nature. Because if it is not placed in its proper place, it will not be able to grow. In some cases, they even become good hosts for pests when growth is not possible. Pests whose growth is not limited to weak and can be spread to others. Trees grow alongside herbaceous species and there are no boundaries for their growth. You may see an 8 cm sapling next to an 8 m tree. Species help each other to grow and coexist peacefully.
Get acquainted with man-made and natural forests and their benefits, advantages, and disadvantages. “Bani Jungle” does not seek to create a man-made forest for any reason, which I will say below. As we have always said, we only think about reforestation. It is no secret that the forest is regenerating itself anyway. But this is a very long issue in practice. Climate change also has a strong impact on it. “Bani Jungle” does not kill any grass. He even pays attention to small trees and seedlings that are growing due to pollination or seed transfer by other organisms in the area. In the process of planting seedlings, in addition to these cases, the planting area and compatibility of seedlings with the region are also considered. Planting seedlings is not linear and the planting area is evaluated for compatibility with other species and the situation it needs. More than anything, it is important for us to help regenerate and revitalize the Hyrcanian forests. We, like you, think that the more natural and untouched the forest, the more magnificent it looks. Forest dwellers probably agree. Because only then do they consider the forest a safe environment for their survival.
