Carpinus betulus needs a lot of potassium and nitrogen and a lot of calcium in the soil.
This tree forms a community in most areas with beech. Its leaves and skin can be used therapeutically. Its leaves have a definite astringent effect and its decoction of 30 per thousand is used as a gargle to relieve a sore throat. Due to its thin bark, this tree is slightly sensitive to lightning and passes through it and is one of the species that turn green in early spring.
